BEgrid

BEgrid has chosen for the middleware that is used on the production infrastructure of the EGEE (Enabling Grids for E-sciencE) project (for the moment LCG-2). This choice is motivated by the advanced state of the software and its use in the research environment of many European countries. This middleware is open source and can be downloaded from CERN.

gLite is open source software and can be installed from different sources.

Installation of gLite on a cluster that will be a part of BEgrid the installation via the Quattor tool is recommended. This installation and configuration method needs some time investments but pays off in easier updates and upgrades.

You can also install gLite from the CERN distribution.
