Grid and HPC certificates
To be able to use BEgrid, EGI (the European Grid Infrastructure), PRACE (the European supercomputer infrastructure) or other European e-infrastructures a user needs to obtain a grid certificate. A grid certificate is a public key (that matches with a private key) with identity information of the user attached.
Most of the Belgian researchers can obtain a certificate via the Digicert service available within their organisation.
Below we outline how researchers from different organizations can use the service.
LHC/CMS, SoLID, Pheno and IceCube from Uantwerpen, UGent, ULB and VUB making use of the Brussesls Tier-2:
Follow the procedure explained at: http://doc.iihe.ac.be/…cate_for_the_T2
All researchers from KULeuven, UAntwerpen, UCLouvain, UGent, ULB and VUB can request a grid certificate as follows:
- go to www.digicert.com/sso
- choose your organisation
- fill out you university login name and password
- request a “grid premium” certificate
See a detailed example of a request.
The procedure for ULg, VLIZ and IMEC will be available very soon.
For all other organization, for more information or to report any problem contact Stéphane Gérard.
